AILA's total membership = 10,000 lawyers (including non practising law faculty)
25 Billion dollars divided by less than 10K lawyers, each was going to walk away with a 2.5 million dollar bonanza
Now that it is clear that they will not turn into instant millionaires (believe me, most of them already are), they have suddenly become the EB community's stalwart best friend and are even filing a lawsuit for us because the thought of returning the 2000$ fees for filing 485 is killing them. They may even shed a tear at our sorry plight.

I just received my initial EAD and it is only valid for 1 year. My priority date is October 2006. Shouldn�t I have received an EAD valid for 2 years?

is your case eb2 or eb3? what nationality are you from? if you are eb2 india, then it could potentially mean that you might get GC within one year...

Any clue?
With I 485 pending you need an EAD to be able to apply for a social security number. I believe it is not uncommon for parents to apply for employment authorization for a minor to do just what you are asking.

As pappu stated in the first post of the above referenced thread - some of the ongoing efforts include finding how many IV members would get benefit from such a provision and get basic details such as username/Priority Date of impacted members. Future action items might include drafting documents and letters to support this provision. There maybe actions such as sending emails etc. However we would not be able to open a public action item unless we can have thousands of our members willing to participate in a grassroots action item. This survey intends to understand the needs of our membership for this provision and collect grassroots information.
The fact is we have a dedicated group of volunteers (and we need more) who have been trying their best to spread the message about this initiative so that a strong grass-roots support can be created leading up to launch of the public action items. So far we have around 1100 people who have responded. Based on quick calculations carried out using PERM data, it is estimated that there are at least 60K-70K EB applicants waiting to file I-485/EAD/AP (this is a very conservative estimate..the actual number could be much more). Grass-roots initiatives require time and patience and we request maximum number of impacted folks to participate actively.

Silvergate did academic evaluation for me for my I-140 and they did an excellent job on my case which i needed rushed and they gave me efficient next day processing. I had contacted other evaluation services first who would take longer and were more expensive. I definitely recommend them.

Hi,
Does 5% salary reduction require an amendment even though the salary is still much higher than the prevailing wage? I have been on a reduced salary for a year and about to get a visa stamp. Everybody says something different on this issue. I am just worried that this will cause problems in the consulate. I don't even know how the consular officers actually figure someones annual salary from their pay stubs. Should i just go and act like everything is normal and not mention about the reduction? Because it makes such a little difference in every paycheck. Please help me out on this issue. Nobody responded my previous post. I am very stressed out.

My lawyer just told me, that Canadian citizens have the privilege to get H-4 stamped at the border & do not need to go the US consulates in Canada. Just wanted to ask that if this true and if someone has been through it.
Are there specific Land Borders where stamping can be done? or does it works at every Border post?
Is there a border post in the Minnesota or North Dakota area where this can be done? My wife lives in a small town in Manitoba.
Does she have to take all her pictures or will they take picture there for the visa? & what else would we need? non-immigrant forms etc. Any experiences?? I know they will need my H-1 Petition copy, pay stubs, marriage certificate, pictures of marriage etc.
