I filed paper based AP at Nebraska service center and got AP in 5 weeks. Pretty painless except paying them 300 for 2 pieces of paper is outrageous.

I have a simple question. The total number of I-485s pending as per USCIS is around 220,000. If we have 130000 EB visas every year, will the backlog be cleared in just 2 years?

While applying for h1B visa stamping, what do I answer for the below question.
(i) Not including current employer, list our last two employers
For the above question, should I mention student assistantship (Research Assistant) that I did while doing MS (on F1 visa) in USA?

Hi,
I had a question regarding employment in OPT STEM extension. I recently(one week back) got a job and joined as a independent contractor(adding me as a vendor to company and at the time of joining they asked me to fill W-9 form) in company. I was joined first and thought of ask them to enroll in E-verify later.
But couple of days back when I ask the HR for company to enroll in E-Verify in order to update to school officials. HR refuses to enroll because as I was working as an independent contractor and not coming under their payroll.
Regarding how do I get paid? They will pay me bi-weekly. But I need to rise the invoice and submit time sheet and give it to them so that they will pay me a payable check.
And even I got approved OPT STEM extension couple of days back which I was applied through my previous employer.
Is there a way to come out of this situation?
Even thinking of adding a consulting firm layer in between the company and me but I don't want to do that. Please help me out.

Now that the I-485 gates have been opened, I would like to know what will happen to my spouse's H1B application pending before USCIS? Since I am planning on filing for I-485 for my spouse as well, will the H1B process make a difference? Or will the H1B approval cause any issues to the I-485 application?

I don't think so. One of my friend is in same situation. I feel 485 is filed after H1b so every thing is fine. But on which boat they need to travel is the question? you can't use H1 if you use EAD?

Are you legally in US i.e. can you travel in and out of US?
If not, then this forum may not be of use to you as the forum exlcusively addresses the issues surrounding legal immigration
Are you authorized to work in US i.e. do you have a social security number that is valid for employment
If yes, then you should report the abusing woman to police. If not, then you maybe in viloation of US employment and immigration laws

Thanks - I took this walking along a railroad bed that is no longer in use. I must have chased 10 of these things around before I finally got this one that would hold still long enough to get a descent shot.
