The average city dweller is either renting by paying a ton of money or is spending a ton of money for a house. That is not true. Receipt Date is when the service center physically receives the package. They date stamp it and then use it to enter that RD when they generate the Notice on the ND.
What you see on the status page for sure reflects the ND and NOT the RD. So you can pretty much ignore what the status page says and rely on what your physical notice says (it states the actual RD when they physically received the package!)

The H1B holder is ELIGIBLE for the stimulus package since he/she has SSN. He won't be able to claim the benefit for spouse if the spouse does not have SSN.
So just because spouse does not have SSN does not mean that the H1B holder becomes ineligible to receive the benefit. H1B will get $600 for himself/herself as long as he/she has filed IT returns.

Do we know more details on how this happened? Who worked for this and what did they do to make their efforts successful?
Same with the AC21 provision that allows changing jobs after 180 days. That is a huge accomplishment for whoever worked to make it happen.

I have already expressed my intention to sue the US government for the money I have put for so many years in the SS and Medicare funds when I leave the country. There will be always a greedy American lawyer (only one ?! :-) ready to get this done for one third of the prey. And I will still get back two thirds of my money. Much better than nothing.
And imagine that a bunch of "mirage chasers" like me unite and make it a class-suit, and everybody around the world who has been legally here and paid his taxes hears that and asks for his/her money back... The tick-skin-fat-ass politicians and government officials will suddenly become very nice, considered and cooperative (now they are just nice), the PBEC would miraculously clear the backlog within 6 months, the retrogression will disappear etc, etc.
Well, most probably all this will never happen but you never know, the snowball may start rolling... They are too many frustrated people in this mess...

i think they will have to wait till the end of the quarter to assign that quota, how would they know about the number of the prospective applicant ahead of time? They first have to make sure that "current" status people should get a visa number. Not a fact i like, but thats the way it is...

First of all I am really sorry for all this happening to you. Unfortunately, this is happening more and more since the anti-dowry laws have been made which are so ridiculous. Females get the credit of being innocence from our society even if they are not.
