The priority date based on the person first entering the US on H1B visa, or converting to a H1 status from any other visa status in the US is an excellent one.
This eliminates all the issues that H1Bs face today when applying for a GC. Employer portability, Visa retrogression etc ( and not to mention employer manipulation of H1Bs workers in delaying to file GCs ) are applied in fairness to everyone. This takes the fear out of H1B workers to change jobs at will without regard to negative impact on their pending GC applications..
Way to go.. Why can't IV propose to add this one liner to any of the impending amendments or find another lawmaker to support this which can alleviate most issues faced by H1Bs today.

The whole thing is very confusing sir. Just like the bible, for which different groups come up with different interpretations, we are being confronted with many intrepretations for this bill. Lets look at what the IV has to provide in the bill summary they have posted. Most probably that is a version prepared by the "patton-boggs" law firm.

Listen to what he says about how India is racing ahead despite all the problems with education. I was disgusted with the quotas and poor education in India.

I think they will eventually open up EB2, unless their plan is to clear EB3-I first (which would not be unfair I think).
See one of my earlier posts, one of the core issues is the sudden forward and then sudden backward movements in the dates.
If the demand is anticipated correctly, there shouldn't be need for closing the window at all!

The Loan officer was fully aware the visa sattus. Dont know how he maneged but for me I didn't face any problem in financing from BOA.

They have already moved to Title 3 of the markup really quickly (and I mean REALLY QUICKLY). Hopefully they will move past Title 3 soon too and get onto Title 4 and 5 hopefully on Wed.

Thanks sy. I fully agree it's the agent we deal with. My BOA loan coordinator is extremely stubborn & doesn't have any clue regarding immigration. From day 1 she is stuck on unexpired I-94 & till today she asks me to furnish that. Their rates are competitive, and closing costs are "very decent". 90% of the stuff can be done over ph/fax/email. The best thing that my friend said was even without 20% down payment, his PMI (private mortgage insurance) was a mere 30 dollars (for a 220k home).

485 does mean some thing to them. But they seem to avoid that so that they can charge more interest rate.
Right now, there is huge demand for loans. So they are bringing in many artificial road blocks to increase interest rates.
H4+ I-485 pending still is a valid status. Now what rules they have regarding approving the loan to someone who is not working (because of H4 status) is something I am unaware of and not immigration related, I guess.
But if you are going to send them a copy of your I-485 application, that should mean SOMETHING in their eyes.

What if out of all 10000 , 9999 don't have priority date current.Do you think they will still not look at the 1 in the pile which has a current PD.They will look at it , Even if it is number 10000 in the list.Actually there will be no pile because 9999 people won't even be in contention.
Why do you think labour substitution was so HOT?Just because by getting an earlier PD , you were going to steam roll everybody who filed before you , just because you got an earlier PD..
PD has to be current in order to get the RD advantage.
